Inspired by drag culture, surrealism, and retro fashion mannequins. The hairdos are made to look like (left to right) an octopus, cacti, spaghetti & meatballs. These statues are each 4" tall.

Inspired by innovations in heterosexual men’s fashion and the uncomfortable feelings of trying to be something that just doesn’t fit.

These handmade ornaments inspired by Japanese capsule toys each feature arms and legs appearing to sprout forth from their sandwich fillings. This piece exemplifies my sculptural ethos of “where silly meets surreal.”

This project was my first successful attempt to create custom molds in order to batch produce dozens of unique statues more efficiently. Also, I love round animals in tiny hats.

A celebration of the mass-produced porcelain wares that have decorated so many grandmothers' shelves. These are functional clay boxes made to look like the wide rococo-inspired skirts of a delightfully ridiculous cat and pug. They are equal parts funny and frou-frou.

This 6" bust is inspired by Rococo fashion, Marie Antoinette, and Hostess snack cakes. A play on the decadence of historical fashion and modern-day mass-produced indulgences, this lady has style for the ages. Clay and making miniature foods have been a hyperfixation of mine for years now and I love finding ways to incorporate the minis that bring me so much joy into my larger pieces and experimenting with new ways of representing texture.
